Ten years of showing up for people.
People for Relief helps people through disaster and hardship, and stands behind the organizations that help them. We've done it for more than ten years, in every season.
Why we started
After a disaster, the first help usually comes from the people who live there. Neighbors with trucks, church halls that turn into shelters, food pantries that stay open late. They know the streets, the families and what's needed. What they're often missing is enough support to keep going.
People for Relief exists to stand behind them. We bring supporters together all year so that when people need help, the organizations closest to them can give it.
What we believe
Help works best when it comes from people who know the community. Help should reach people quickly, while it still makes a difference. And the people who give deserve to know where their help went.
How we work
We work alongside local relief organizations instead of sending crews of our own. That keeps help close to the people who need it and lets every gift go further. We look closely at every organization we partner with: their track record, their place in the community, the people they serve and their plan.
We stay ready between disasters too. Hardship doesn't stop when a storm passes. Shelters, food pantries and community groups help people every day, and our supporters help them do it.
A charity you can count on
People for Relief is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization, so gifts are tax-deductible. Every gift comes with a receipt by email, and every supporter can sign in to see their full giving history. Our policies on privacy, donations and partners are all in the Policy Center.
