How we help.

People for Relief brings supporters together all year and stands behind the local organizations helping people, from the first days after a disaster through the months of rebuilding.

  1. Listen

We stay close to the organizations already helping people: shelters, food pantries, cleanup crews and neighborhood groups. They tell us what people need, whether it's a flood this week or a family struggling through a hard winter.

  2. Rally

Supporters give all year. Monthly gifts keep help ready before it's needed, and campaigns bring people together when a disaster hits and more families need help at once.

  3. Help

We stand behind our partner organizations so they can help more people: water and food in the first days, cleanup and repairs in the weeks after, shelter and essentials while families wait to go back.

  4. Share

Partners tell us how the help reached people, and we share it with supporters, so everyone who gives can see what their help did.

Who we help.

Families after a disaster

People whose street flooded, whose town burned or whose roof came off in a storm.

People through hard times

Families and neighbors facing hardship that never makes the news, served every day by local shelters and pantries.

The organizations helping them

Local groups that know the community and are already doing the work.

Whole communities

Towns pulling together to rebuild, long after the cameras leave.
